The Robin Hood Foundation created the Fund for Early Learning (FUEL) for 50 initiative to help advance their mission of transforming New York City into an early learning metropolis. This initiative offers funds and support to various community organizations helping to address a wide variety of systemic issues that affect young children and their families, including services, housing, food, and income. Robin Hood utilizes a tiered system to ensure a large number of organizations receive support. In 2022, 50 community organizations received an unrestricted award and the opportunity to attend educational webinars on program development, evaluation, and scale. Of these, 10 organizations received additional funding in 2023 to help advance the missions of these organizations and ensure their success in empowering young children and families in New York City. Grantees working with ICS receive hands-on personalized support in program development and evaluation.
